This edition presents the musical elements of a vesper service for Saint Anthony of Padua by Simone Vesi (fl. 1638–1667), maestro di capella to the Bishop of Padua. They are drawn from four collections of music for voices and instruments that Vesi issued between 1646 and 1663, all published in Venice. The nine movements consist of a versicle, Domine ad adjuvandum; five psalms (Dixit Dominus, Confitebor Terzo Tuono, Beatus vir, Laudate pueri, and Laudate Dominum); a hymn, Iste Confessor; the Magnificat; and a Marian antiphon, Salve Regina. The edition also contains texts with translations and an editorial report.
